Fire at Great Lakes Renewable Energy
A fire reported at the Great Lakes Renewable Energy needed support from Stone Lake and Bass Lake Fire Depts. to put out. The fire was first reported at 3:07 p.m. and fire crews cleared out at 7:14 p.m.
The fire started in an area called the baghouse where dry sawdust is pulled from the conveyor belt. There was no damage to the main building of the pellet plant, the fire was contained to the baghouse.
HAYWARD -- at approximately 3:10p today, Thursday, February 1, 2018, a call for mutual aid from Bass Lake Fire was made to assist in a fire at Great Lakes Renewable Energy located on HWY 63 approximately 2 miles south of Hayward.
No injuries are being reported at this time.
