Hayward Community School Superintendent Craig Olson told SawyerWire that an area business, Hayward Power Sports, has donated $5,000 worth of coats, hats, mittens and other winter clothing to the schools to distribute to students in need this Winter season.

Olson said Hayward Power Sports has always been very supportive of the school district. He said in addition to the donation made by Hayward Power Sports, they also organized a community effort to provide more clothing.

Grady Schroeder, Hayward Power Sports, told the Hayward School Board at their last meeting November 13, that as soon as they asked the community to help, people just started dropping stuff off.

Olson said the clothes are all in great condition. He said these clothes are name brand.

"It was very cool of the guys at Hayward Power Sports to do this," Olson said.
