Thank You for Visiting the New SawyerWire

Thank you for visiting SawyerWire.com, a DrydenWire.com news source focusing on local news and happenings in Sawyer County, including Hayward, LCO and our communities in the southern part of the county.

Having spent my entire life in the Hayward area, graduating high school here in 1990, it’s a great privilege to have been tasked by Ben Dryden, publisher of DrydenWire.com, to be the editor of this new venture.

I have been writing news for our county off and on again for over 20 years spending a great amount of that time as editor of the Lac Courte Oreilles/Ojibwe Times. I edited this publication for ten years and then expanded it to cover all the northern Wisconsin tribes where I published and edited news until 2013, at which time I took over as editor for the St. Croix tribe’s Vision newspaper. I’ve been writing for DrydenWire for the past two years.

My responsibilities will include writing news and feature stories, as well as partnering with local advertisers and creating a social media marketing campaign for SawyerWire. Currently, you can find us on Facebook and Twitter.

DrydenWire.com was created by Ben Dryden, Spooner, Wis. resident, two years ago with the goal of bringing you the news as the story breaks and bringing our northern Wisconsin communities together via sharing information. Over the past couple of years, the site has seen phenomenal growth in the area, reaching past 100,000 visitors a month.
