In Memory of Elaine Marjorie Nelson

August 23, 1917 - January 12, 2018

Elaine Marjorie Nelson, age 100, of Hayward, WI died January 12, 2018 at Water’s Edge Nursing Home in Hayward.

Elaine Marjorie was born August 23, 1917 to Jordan and Ingborg Joseph on the family farm in Hayward. She graduated from Hayward High School in 1936 and on August 29, 1939, she married Harold “Hudda” Nelson of Hayward. Elaine enjoyed reading, cooking, church activities and her family. She worked as a cook for several years, then worked at Tremblay’s Sweet Shop for more than 30 years and enjoyed her job every day. She was a kind, generous, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and will be missed.

Survivors include daughters, Arlene Strain of Hayward, Sandy (Henry) Knoepker of Warrens, WI; seven grandchildren, Cindy, Norman, Josie, Tina, Brian, Amy and Julie; 25 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and special friend Margie Ruid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings husband, Harold “Hudda” Nelson, son-in-law, Dick Strain; granddaughter Joanie Trepanier and an infant daughter.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate Elaine’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18th, at First Lutheran Church in Hayward with Pastor Joel Bacon officiating. Music will be provided by her grandson Alex Knoepker and Ken Frame. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
